Packing Out the House

Apparently the mystery of the Mercy is one that more than a few people want to solve!

So far the Mercy seminar has stayed at the top of the list of registered participants.  There are more people coming to it than either of the seminars of entirely new material!  I find this intriguing and rather amusing.  I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I am a Mercy and BTH is a Mercy company, and, as a matter of fact, I am being hosted by a Mercy … all coincidence, of course.

What I really want to know is what percentage of the people attending are Mercys and what percentage are friends and family who want a few mysteries solved!  Maybe they are hoping I will be selling a “Mercy User Manual” or better yet a book called, “How to Translate and Understand Your Mercy”.

Well, whatever the case may be, I am looking forward to that evening.  It is a first fruits in a unique fashion – it will be the very first seminar I teach in South Africa.  Much of the material is familiar to those who have listened to my album, but there will be some new stuff as well.  One particular section I am eager to teach.  I think it will give some important language and unlock a whole new understanding of the life of God within the Mercy.

Meanwhile, back at home, I have been reminded once again of the Mercy tendency not to act until forced into a place of pain.  How was I reminded?  Yes, well, how else?  My own life.  And so I am pulling out my one-string fiddle once again to harp on the importance of the Mercy being willing to embrace the productive pain that is necessary for growth, which will then release the treasures within us.  Let’s not make God force it on us!

Be ready, all you Mercys.  I am coming with an attitude!

Anticipation

The checklist is dwindling.  Got enough pages in the passport?  Yes.  Clothes for travel and presentation?  Yes.  Oh!  Adapters for funky South African plugs?  Yes.  Hostess gifts?  Yes.  All presentations prepared?  Yes … well, as much as they can in advance, always with the possibility that God will redo everything.  Itinerary done?  Yes.  Last minute shopping?  Well, not yet.  That’s last minute …

Over the last couple of months my mind has been using all my spare RAM to assemble checklists and “to-do” assignments in preparation for a month in South Africa doing land work and teaching seminars.  Oh, and somewhere in there, I am actually DOING the things on the checklist.  One of the exciting elements of this itinerary and indeed, the keynote event, is a release of a totally new teaching that I feel God wants done in this country.

But the checklist is dwindling.  And now that I am freeing up some spare RAM in the computer, my spirit and mind are feeling the anticipation.  At various points within the checklist furor the feeling of anticipation was converted into something akin to a foreboding suspicion of insanity.  (Never fear, I quelled those with a good dose of Mercy nonreality).

Now the anticipation is clear and strong and fills me with excitement.  I feel like a kid in the few days before Christmas when the mound under the tree starts to take on a life of its own.  I don’t know what all God has in store, but I know His character, and I know that He has countless gifts to the land, the nation, and the people through this time we will have together.

I can tell you without a doubt that I won’t be the same!

The adventure will begin with some time on the land, getting a feel for the nation, connecting with nature and trying not to get eaten by any large cats.  I know there are places where my spirit will drink deeply from the beauty and splendor of God’s creation, and both me and the land will be enriched by the exchange.  THEN, I go to teach!

And teach, and teach, and teach.  (Good thing I enjoy it!)

How extraordinary it will be to pour into people after having drunk deeply myself, to be a vessel used by God to bring freedom and fruitfulness to the lives of others.

Did you notice that my anticipation is growing?

I know that many of you reading this blog are somewhere else in the world, well, somewhere other than South Africa.  In fact, I’M not even in South Africa yet.  But I would like to invite you to join me in the excitement of God’s plans and to follow these adventures on this blog.

ACK!  Something else for the checklist.  Who will take care of the fish???
